This
new twelve (12) month intensive
program in Medical
Transcription leads to an
Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC).
The program includes a three-week
internship in a hospital center.

Program
objectives
This program provides an
environment and curriculum
specifically designed to train
candidates in developing the skills
required to transcribe medical
documents efficiently and
accurately.
Candidates will develop the skills
required to transcribe medical
documents of all types using medical
terminology in anatomy, pathology,
interventions and pharmacology.
The program also aims at providing
skills in data processing, medical
administration, data and knowledge
of the medical file.
The program will also introduce
students to the legal aspects of
health information and
confidentiality; a specialized
course in medical terminology in
second language completes the
program.
Career
opportunities
Graduates
of the Medical Transcription program
can work in hospital centers,
clinics, private offices, CLSCs,
insurance companies and research
institutes. Presently, there is a
shortage of qualified medical
transcriptionists in Quebec. |
