International Trade

This two (2) semester program of study (8 months) leads to an Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC).

The main objective of the program is to train international trade specialists that will be able to succeed as entrepreneurs, self-employed workers, managers, technicians or administrative support staff in businesses or in activities that are related to the export and import sectors.

 

Career Opportunities 

Within an economic environment where growth, prosperity and employment are largely dependant on commercial trade flows between nations, an understanding of the mechanisms of international trade and the acquisition of specialized competencies are essential to the pursuit of a successful career or business venture. 

The main activity sectors in the field of international trade are:

  • Managing a business or activities related to exporting or to importing
  • Export or import project management
  • Foreign market research and identification of trade opportunities
  • Materials management and physical distribution
  • Marketing, promotion and advertising
  • Logistics, transportation and customs brokerage
  • Trade risk management and financing
  • Counsel on the contractual and legal aspects of international trade.
